Our DNA is eclectic. Our genes are a combination of those from mothers and fathers and their ancestors. So we have borrowed a lot of genes to become what we are.

So it is with buildings. Is there a truly unique building? Almost all buildings have borrowed elements.

Photographic comparisons highlight this.

Exhibit 1. Hall in Machu Picchu, Peru. Inca.

Exhibit 2. Hall in Museo de la Nacion in Lima, Peru. Latin American.

The shafts of light piercing the walls both relieve the dark interior and give it a ghostly atmosphere.
