Water puppets and intersections

Kevin leaves halfway through the water puppet show and waits in the lobby until Aldred emerges at the end.

Aldred: Why'd you leave early?
Kevin: The cacophony, the screeching, the wailing. In short, the din.
Aldred: But this thousand year old theatrical reenactment. It's an event.
Kevin: Sometimes, old isn't always good. It may even be dull.
Aldred: But puppets. On water. This is unique to Hanoi.
Kevin: So are fried cockroaches and served up as a starter. I can say no.
Aldred: Well, I grant you there water puppets don't tell much of a story.
Kevin: Perhaps this is uncharitable of me, but maybe this performance is being put on just for tourists?
Aldred: Like the fish shop that got into the Thousand Places to See Before You Die book and is now packed out and making a killing with a single recipe?
Kevin: See, you're beginning to agree with me. Hold your position or we'll lose our contrasting viewpoints and with it the momentum of our dialogue.
Aldred: OK, how about this for real life theater? We go to Vong intersection and watch the ballet of the motorcycle rush hour? Nearly as good as the spectacle of water dragons spouting fountains and hissing fireworks.
Kevin: OK, but bring a mask.
